Welcome to ‘Laptop Insurance Compare’

Are you sick of roaming the net aimlessly trying to find the best laptop insurance deal? Do you need a comparison website which ‘compares the market’. Well, look no further. Here at ‘Laptop Insurance Compare’, we do exactly that, compare the market. We hope that you find what you are looking for here, without the fuss, and hassle, and without having to click through god knows how many pages to find the actual cost.

Anyways, lets run through a few tips and bits of advice we have come across in this insurance game. Lets see if we cant save you a few quid here and there:

  • Don’t spend a fortune extending your manufacturers warranty Are you familiar with your laptop ‘brand’ sending you through a letter about a year after you purchased trying to flog an extended warranty, for quite a bit of money? Well, ignore this letter. There are a select few insurance companies out there who extend this manufacturers warranty buy up to five years! Wow, who would have thought? Any electrical or mechanical fault developed within 5 years will be paid by the insurer. Who would have thought hey?
  • Look for a sign on bonus – There are so many independent insurance companies out there today competing for your business, its worth bargaining a little bit. Play them off against each other. At the very least you should be looking for one months free cover. Have a little fun, and try using your negotiating skills!
  • Fast response time is essential – Here at ‘Laptop Insurance Compare’ we understand how important your laptop can be. What if you are working on an important presentation for your client and your computer breaks down? Make sure the company you go with has a guaranteed replacement period. Just makes sense really – read the fine print!
  • Worldwide cover – Yep, another no brainer, but one we often don’t think about. We all love to travel, and its very important that you have worldwide cover as part of your policy.
  • A good support team helps – You want to go with a company who is FSA regulated. This, in a nutshell means, they can be trusted. Not some mickey mouse company. But make sure their support system is FANTASTIC. You don’t want to be on the phone holding (for 10p per minute) for half an our, only to be hung up on. Yep, its infuriating! Make sure you have a good feel for your company from day 1. We know that doesn’t help much, but its worth noting!

There you have it folks. Enjoy browsing our site. We hope our tips have helped.

Hey folks,

Was just browsing youtube and came across a cool HD video on ‘laptop speakers’.

Awesome. No batteries, no power. You plug it in an it just works. Logitech have outdone themself here.

Comes in a nice tidy little bag which you can bring with you easily. I tell you what, its alot better than using this mini ‘dvd’ players that were all the rage a few years ago.

Great sound quality, and it clips onto the top of your laptop if you want to watch movies. We like!

Apple Macs – No Self Respecting Graphic Designer Would Dream of Using Anything Else!

By Peter Kirkham

When is a Mac not a Mac?

Well… never.

Do you know why the vast majority of graphic designers, advertising agencies in fact everyone who knows anything about print, prefer to use an Apple Mac?

Yes, even when almost every business and home user in the country runs a PC, the Apple Mac holds out in this industry against all the odds.

And there’s one simple reason for it.

An Apple Mac simply works better. Now I’m going to tell you some things about the difference between an Apple Mac and a PC you’ve probably never heard before…

o The Apple Mac operating system is impervious to 99% of all known viruses and rarely, if ever, becomes infected.

o The Apple Mac handles large, complex graphic files much better than a PC.

o An Apple Mac is an Apple Mac, and never a clone.

o An Apple Mac is generally far more reliable than a PC.

So while many companies assume PC programs like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher etc are perfectly suited to offset printing – they most definitely are not.

Sure, these programs are great for low resolution output to computer screens, network printers & copiers, however when you try and process them through ‘high-end’ image setting equipment for offset printing, get ready for it all to go pear shaped.

Here’s some of the most common problems I’ve experienced over the years…

Problem # 1:

Colors from any Microsoft software are created in RGB (red, green & blue) and not CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow & black) and as such are not suitable for 4 color process printing. The files can be converted however the color quality suffers.

Problem # 2:

Page sizes in US software is different to Australian sizes and text flow and formatting is a constant problem.

Problem # 3:

Graphics created in Microsoft software are low resolution and when printed by the offset method become extremely pixilised.

Want to avoid problems like these, and save yourself extra time and money?

Well, you’ve got 2 options:

Option 1. Go and buy yourself an Apple Mac. (that’s an expensive option, if you don’t already have one!)

OR…

Option 2. Choose a printer who uses the ‘latest ‘industry standard’ software and hardware for converting PC files, computer design and typesetting into Apple Mac supported files.

So… if you’re considering supplying your printing company with artwork, you need to ask them if they can actually use the files that you’re going to spend countless hours creating.

Most die-hard printing companies & graphic designers struggle to take anyone seriously that creates artwork files on a PC. Having said that, the Microsoft Office suite of software has now been available for Macs for some time, much to the disgust of the die-hards.

3 Major Reasons to Purchase Laptop Insurance

3 Major Reasons to Purchase Laptop Insurance

By Jackson Sharp

If you think laptop insurance is nothing but an unnecessary expense that you’d be better off forgoing, then think again. A laptop is so much more than a useful piece of equipment for staying in touch and managing your life. It’s also a valuable investment and it should really be treated as such.

Individualized laptop insurance represents a level of protection you simply can’t get any other way. It’s also the kind of thing ignorant consumers don’t realize is really necessary until it’s much too late! Are you one of the smart ones who believe in being prepared for anything… or are you going to wind up caught in the cold when disaster strikes?

1. Laptop insurance saves you money.

Don’t make the common mistake of assuming that letting your existing household items policy cover your laptop should anything happen will actually save you money in the long run! When you factor in the fact that even a single claim will negate your “no claims” bonus and the higher portion of the replacement costs you’ll be expected to cover, you could actually be spending much more. Then there’s the possibility that multiple claims could raise your premiums over time.

It’s far less expensive in the long run to simply purchase an inexpensive insurance policy for your computer. Such policies take into consideration the fact that a great number of people eventually need to file claims against their laptops for one reason or another, so you won’t wind up in the lurch should you actually have to turn to your insurer for assistance.

2. Laptop insurance covers all the bases.

The manufacturer’s warranties so many laptop owners think will cover them if anything happens to their laptop simply aren’t very comprehensive. Even good warranties really only cover equipment malfunctions and possibly selected forms of damage that may occur. However, laptop insurance covers theft, loss, damage, accidents, and the possibility of any flaws in the make-up of the laptop.

Think you’re too careful to actually need coverage like that? Consider the fact that half of all laptop owners drop theirs, lose them in transit while traveling, or become the victims of a theft at some point. None of them thought it would happen to them either.

3. Laptop insurance is easier than ever to shop for.

Once upon a time, shopping around for something like laptop insurance meant many hours of painstaking comparison shopping and a lot of confusion. These days, you can simply make use of amazing, high-tech comparison tools that make the entire process incredible painless. Can you imagine knowing beyond the shadow of any doubt that you’re getting the best possible deal on the most comprehensive package available?

Well, you can do exactly that when you compare every single option out there at a glance! Choosing the very best laptop insurance you can possibly get your hands on has never been a simpler, easier, or more reliable process.

If you’re in the market for laptop insurance and don’t know where to start your search, never fear! I have put together a website designed to help people like you learn about insurance options for their computers, identify their needs, and compare all the best rates out there with a single mouse click.
